Swim platform teak and seam renewal, in the marina
Renewing the edge teak and seams of a swim platform while the yacht stayed in the marina.
Situation
The teak along the swim platform edge had lifted and the seams had opened. As the part of the boat that meets the sea most, it had started taking water.
Method
We worked without hauling the yacht. The failed boards and seam were cut out, the channel cleaned and masked, adhesive laid and new teak bonded in. The seam was then caulked and the surface sanded.
Result
The platform edge was renewed in a few days without taking the yacht out of service. 12-month warranty on workmanship and materials.
