A new composite console hatch from a mould
A new console hatch, made from a mould after the original blew off at sea: 3D scanning, mould, lamination, paint and fitting on board.

Situation
The motor yacht’s console hatch had blown off, leaving the opening empty, and the original part was not available.
Method
We 3D-scanned the console and the empty opening on board and took sections from the scan. A plug and mould were built, and the new hatch laminated from it. After a test fit and marking on board, it was painted in the booth and fitted.
Result
The new hatch follows the console lines exactly, with hinge and lock positions lining up. 12-month warranty on workmanship and materials.
